Omega De Ville Automatic | Ref. 151.0051 | Rare Two-Tone Dial | 1970s

Here’s a De Ville that doesn’t play it safe.

The Omega De Ville Ref. 151.0051 stands out immediately thanks to its distinctive TV-style case and a rare blue and silver two-tone dial. This isn’t the usual minimalist De Ville you see everywhere. It’s bold, architectural, and very much a product of Omega’s confident design language from the 1970s.

The dial is the star here. The contrasting inner blue panel against the silver outer track creates depth and balance, while the clean baton markers keep things sharp and legible. Importantly, the dial is in excellent condition with minimal signs of age, which is not common for this reference.

The stainless steel case wears larger than its numbers suggest and sits comfortably on the wrist. Inside, Omega’s Calibre 711 automatic movement does exactly what it was designed to do, reliable, efficient, and smooth.

This example is running well and presents beautifully, without being over-polished or over-restored.

Historical Context

During the 1970s, Omega used the De Ville line as a playground for design experimentation. References like the 151.0051 show how far Omega was willing to push shape and dial layout while still maintaining mechanical credibility. These pieces remain underappreciated compared to Seamasters and Constellations, which makes them excellent collector buys today.
