Description

Lord Elgin was Elgin's premium American line, reserved for its better cases and movements. This vintage gents tank carries a stepped, fancy-lug case in 14K gold-filled with a star hallmark, a quietly handsome dress watch from the golden age of American horology.

The charcoal-black dial is the draw, with gold Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9, applied stick markers between, and a sub-seconds register at 6. Dark dials on gold cases of this era are uncommon and far more wearable today than the usual silver.
