What Is a Vintage Watch?
A vintage watch is generally any timepiece over 30 years old. For Swiss luxury watches, that means anything from the 1990s and earlier. The pre-1990s era is considered the golden age of mechanical watchmaking because most movements were hand-assembled, finished to a standard modern factories cannot match, and built to last decades rather than years. A well-maintained 1960s Omega Seamaster can outlast a new automatic at five times the price.
Vintage watches are different from "pre-owned" watches in an important way. A pre-owned watch is simply a second-hand modern watch, often with its original box and papers, still in production by the brand. A vintage watch is from a discontinued era. Its value comes from rarity, original condition, and the craftsmanship of a period that has ended. The two markets are adjacent but distinct.
Why Buy a Vintage Watch in India?

More collectors are discovering that a well-chosen vintage timepiece offers better value, more character, and stronger craftsmanship than most new watches at the same price point. How ReWrist Authenticates Every Watch
Every watch sold through ReWrist goes through a structured five-step inspection. This is not a cursory check. Each watch is examined for brand component consistency, dial originality (AI-assisted analysis to detect refinishing), movement verification against the reference, serial number cross-referencing, and for high-end pieces, a full professional inspection at our service partner Time and Me in Bangalore.

Pricing Tiers
ReWrist inventory spans several price tiers to accommodate different buyers.
Entry (Rs 15,000 to Rs 40,000): Vintage quartz Omega, affordable Seiko mechanicals, 1970s-80s Swiss dress watches. Great first vintage watch territory.
Mid-tier (Rs 40,000 to Rs 1,00,000): Automatic Omega Seamasters and Constellations, Longines dress pieces, Universal Geneve Polerouters, Tudor, IWC, and similar Swiss heritage pieces.

Warranty, Returns, and Shipping
Every watch sold through ReWrist comes with a 1-year service warranty covering the movement and timekeeping function. If the watch develops a mechanical issue within that period, we arrange service through our Bangalore partner at no cost.
We offer a 7-day return policy if the watch does not match its listing description or photos. Returns are accepted in the same condition the watch was received.
Shipping is free within India with full insurance and tracking. We ship internationally to over 14 countries including the US, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Germany and more. International shipping costs vary by destination and are insured and tracked.
