Description

A crisp, architectural Longines in all steel. The square case is flanked by two broad polished slabs that carry the eye straight out into a brick-link bracelet, so the whole watch reads as one continuous piece of metal rather than a case with a strap attached.

The silver sunburst dial is kept deliberately spare: applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, applied batons between them, a neat date and the winged Longines signature. Turn it over and the caseback carries the full Longines medallion, the winged hourglass ringed by LONGINES and E.F.Co. for Ernest Francillon and Company, the firm's original name.

E.F.Co. on the caseback stands for Ernest Francillon and Company, the name Longines traded under from its founding at Saint-Imier in 1832.
