Description

Mid-century American Longines at its most architectural. The rectangular 10K gold filled case is flanked by stepped hooded lugs that wrap the bracelet ends, so the case and band read as one sculpted piece.

The white dial carries faceted gold batons that catch light like small mirrors, a Longines signature under the twelve and a sunken sub seconds register at six. Under the crystal it is crisp and bright.

It wears a gold-tone expansion bracelet by Champion, stamped Made in USA with its patent numbers, the kind of bracelet these watches were sold on in American jewellery stores.

From the 1950s Longines watches for the American market were imported and cased by the Longines-Wittnauer Watch Company of New York, often in American-made 10K gold filled cases designed for local taste.
