Warranty Policy

Every vintage watch purchased from ReWrist comes with a 1-year service warranty. This page explains exactly what the warranty covers, what it does not cover, and how to make a claim.

What the Warranty Covers

The ReWrist warranty covers the movement and timekeeping function of your vintage watch for one year from the date of delivery. Specifically:

  • The movement running within its expected accuracy range for the caliber (typically +/-15 to 30 seconds per day for vintage mechanical watches, better for quartz)
  • The winding mechanism functioning smoothly for mechanical watches
  • The rotor winding the mainspring correctly on automatic watches
  • Date, day, chronograph, and other complications functioning as described in the listing
  • Crown winding and setting functions operating smoothly

If any of these functions fails within the warranty period, we will have the watch serviced at no cost to you through our partner, Time and Me in Bangalore.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Water damage. Vintage watches should be treated as having no water resistance unless we specifically indicate the watch has been pressure tested. Water damage voids the warranty.
  • Physical damage. Drops, impacts, scratches, and damage from mishandling are not covered.
  • Cosmetic wear. Normal scratches on the case, crystal, or bracelet from daily wear.
  • Battery replacement. Quartz watch batteries are consumables and not covered under warranty. Replacement batteries can be sourced at any watchmaker for Rs 200-500.
  • Strap and bracelet wear. Leather strap aging, bracelet stretch, and clasp wear are not covered.
  • Damage from unauthorised service. If the watch has been opened or serviced by another watchmaker during the warranty period without our consent, the warranty is void.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

Making a warranty claim is straightforward.

  1. Contact us on WhatsApp at +91 83778 30038 describing the issue. Include photos or videos if possible.
  2. Wait for acknowledgement. We respond within a few hours during business hours (IST) and will confirm whether the issue is covered.
  3. Ship the watch to us. Once confirmed, you ship the watch to us at your cost. We cover insured return shipping after service.
  4. Service inspection. The watch is inspected by Time and Me in Bangalore. If the issue is covered, it is repaired at no cost. If not, we provide a quote for repair.
  5. Return shipping. The serviced watch is shipped back to you with full insurance and tracking, usually within 2-3 weeks.

Extended Care

Mechanical watches should be serviced every 4-5 years regardless of warranty status. After the 1-year warranty expires, you can still arrange servicing through ReWrist at competitive rates through our Bangalore partner. Contact us on WhatsApp for a quote.
