Where to Buy Vintage Watches Online in India: 5 Stores Compared (2026 Guide)

Buying a vintage watch online in India has changed in the last decade. Five years ago, the only realistic options were scrolling through unverified Instagram sellers, hoping the photos matched the watch, and sending money via UPI to a number you had never called. Today there are several established stores, each with a different focus. This guide compares the main players so you can pick the right one for what you want to buy.

Full disclosure: ReWrist is my store. I built it because I was tired of the problems in the Indian vintage watch market. I will be upfront about what ReWrist does well and where other stores are genuinely better. The goal of this article is to help you make an informed decision, not to push you toward any single option.

The Five Main Stores

There are five established vintage and pre-owned watch stores in India that are worth considering. Each occupies a different position in the market.

1. Second Movement

Website: secondmovement.com

Best for: Modern pre-owned luxury watches with full provenance.

Second Movement is the largest operator in the Indian pre-owned luxury watch space. They are backed by Ethos Watch Boutiques, India's largest authorised dealer for luxury watch brands, which gives them serious credibility and brand relationships. They have a physical lounge in Gurugram where you can inspect watches in person, and they offer both buying and selling services including trade-ins.

Their strength is modern pre-owned. If you want a certified pre-owned Rolex Submariner, a recent Omega Speedmaster Professional, or a modern Patek Philippe with original box and papers, Second Movement is the serious choice. Their inventory spans 50+ luxury brands including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Cartier, IWC, Lange, Vacheron Constantin and more.

Their weakness is true vintage. Second Movement focuses on watches from the 2000s and later where authentication can rely on box, papers, and serial number databases. For watches from the 1960s or earlier where original documentation no longer exists, their expertise is less pronounced.

Price range: Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 50,00,000+

Shipping: India focus

Physical store: Yes, Gurugram

2. ReWrist

Website: rewrist.com

Best for: Authenticated vintage Swiss luxury (1940s-1990s) with international shipping.

ReWrist specialises in the era that Second Movement does not: vintage Swiss luxury from the golden age of mechanical watchmaking. The focus is on 1940s through 1990s Omega, Longines, Universal Geneve, Cartier, Tudor, IWC, and similar brands. Every watch goes through a five-step authentication process that includes AI-assisted dial analysis, movement verification, and professional inspection at our Bangalore service partner for high-end pieces.

The store is founder-led by a personal vintage watch collector (me, Glen), which means inventory is curated based on what a collector would actually want to own, not algorithmic optimisation. Every listing includes component-level condition reports, studio photography of the actual watch, and full disclosure of any replaced parts or servicing history.

ReWrist ships internationally to over 14 countries with full insurance and tracking, which is unique among Indian stores. Every watch comes with a 1-year service warranty and a 7-day return policy.

The main weakness is scale. With a curated inventory of around 280 active watches and a tight specialisation, ReWrist will not have every reference you might want. If you want a modern Rolex Submariner, look elsewhere. If you want a vintage Omega Constellation Pie Pan with original dial, this is probably the right place.

Price range: Rs 15,000 to Rs 5,00,000+

Shipping: India and 14+ countries international

Physical store: No, online only

3. Vintage Watcholic

Website: vintagewatcholic.in

Best for: HMT collectors and Indian heritage watches.

Vintage Watcholic has been operating since 2014 and specialises heavily in Indian vintage watches. Their HMT catalogue is genuinely impressive, with dedicated collections for every major HMT model including Pilot, Janata, Kohinoor, Sona, Chinar, Himalaya, Gandhi, Gandaberunda, and more. If you are looking for a specific HMT reference, they almost certainly have it. They also carry vintage Seiko, Citizen, Roamer, and Camy, and have a strong presence in the modified Seiko slim dress watch niche.

Their in-house restoration capability is a real differentiator. They restore watches themselves rather than outsourcing, which gives them deeper expertise in the specific brands they carry.

The weakness is brand breadth. If you want vintage Omega, Longines, or Rolex, Vintage Watcholic is not the primary destination. They focus on mid-range vintage and Indian heritage pieces.

Price range: Rs 3,000 to Rs 30,000

Shipping: Pan-India with COD available

Physical store: No

4. Watchtopia

Website: watchtopia.in

Best for: Affordable vintage watches and Casio enthusiasts.

Watchtopia positions itself as an accessible entry point into the vintage watch world. Their inventory mixes new Casio models, vintage Japanese watches (Seiko, Citizen, Orient), and budget-friendly Swiss vintage. The average watch price is under Rs 6,000, making them one of the most affordable options in the space.

Their unique angle is the S23 Slim Tank style, a custom Cartier-inspired watch line built under their own branding. They also stock a surprising range of pocket watches and watch accessories.

The weakness is premium positioning. Watchtopia is budget-focused, which means if you want a high-end vintage piece or serious collector value, you will not find it here. For a first vintage watch under Rs 10,000, they are a reasonable starting point.

Price range: Rs 500 to Rs 50,000

Shipping: India only

Physical store: No

5. Jordan Watches

Website: jordanwatches.com

Best for: Mid-range vintage Swiss and Japanese watches.

Jordan Watches has been operating for years and has built up SEO equity around vintage watch searches in India. They carry a mix of brands including Seiko, Citizen, Tissot, HMT, Orient, Rado, and the uncommon West End (which has a cult following in India as a classic dress watch from British colonial times). Their pricing sits in the middle of the market, making them competitive for buyers who want something above the Watchtopia entry level but below the Second Movement luxury tier.

The weakness is transparency. Jordan Watches does not publish a detailed authentication process or warranty terms on their website, and their product photography and site design are less polished than the other stores in this list. Communication is primarily through phone and WhatsApp.

Price range: Rs 3,000 to Rs 50,000

Shipping: India only

Physical store: No

Which Store Should You Choose?

The right store depends entirely on what you want to buy.

If you want a modern Rolex, Patek Philippe, or Audemars Piguet with box and papers: Second Movement. They have the inventory, the brand relationships, and the verification infrastructure for modern pre-owned luxury.

If you want a vintage Swiss luxury watch from the 1940s-1990s: ReWrist. This is our specialty and where we invest the most in authentication, photography, and product curation.

If you want an HMT or Indian heritage piece: Vintage Watcholic. Their HMT catalogue depth is unmatched and they genuinely understand Indian watchmaking history.

If you want your first vintage watch for under Rs 10,000: Watchtopia is the most accessible entry point. Expect simpler authentication and less curation, but you are also paying significantly less.

If you want a mid-range vintage Swiss or Japanese piece at an established store: Jordan Watches has years of experience and a solid mid-range selection, though communication is primarily WhatsApp-based.

If you are buying internationally: ReWrist is the only one of the five that ships worldwide with full insurance and tracking to 14+ countries.

What to Look For When Buying Vintage

Regardless of which store you choose, the same principles apply. Before you buy a vintage watch online in India, check the following:

  1. Actual photos of the actual watch. Not stock images. If the seller cannot show you the exact watch you will receive, walk away.
  2. Component-level condition report. The listing should describe the dial, hands, crown, crystal, case, movement, and strap individually. Vague "good vintage condition" descriptions hide problems.
  3. Return policy. Any confident seller offers at least a 7-day return window. "All sales final" on a vintage watch should make you nervous.
  4. Warranty. At minimum, a service warranty on the movement. Vintage watches fail in known ways, and a dealer who stands behind their inventory will back the mechanical integrity.
  5. Authentication transparency. Does the seller explain how they verify a watch is genuine? Generic "100% authentic" claims mean nothing. A documented process means something.
  6. Communication. Can you reach the seller on WhatsApp or a direct phone number, not just a contact form? Vintage watch buying involves questions, and the seller should be willing to answer them.

Final Thoughts

The Indian vintage watch market is better today than it has ever been. Five years ago, you were largely at the mercy of Instagram sellers with no accountability. Today there are five legitimate options, each with a clear specialty. The market is not yet at the maturity of US or European vintage markets, but it is getting there, and each of the stores above has contributed to raising the standard.

If you are new to vintage watches, start small. Buy your first piece at the lower end of your budget from a store with a clear return policy. Wear it for a few months. Figure out what you like and do not like about the size, the movement type, the dial design. Your second purchase will be much more informed.

At ReWrist, we have a curated selection of authenticated vintage Swiss watches across multiple price tiers. Browse our New Arrivals, Luxe Collection, or Daily Collection to see what is currently available. If you have questions, reach out on WhatsApp at +91 83778 30038.

Happy hunting.
